Miami

Hopefully I'll get around to screenprinting this after winter break. It's about 4th in line right now. Amy is graciously taking some of my zines to the art fair in Miami. I guess I will be on the beach in spirit.

Drew and Kurt back in action.

For anyone interested, Drew and I have jump-started our collaborative blog after months of nothing. We're posting everyday, so check it out if you wanna see newer stuff from both of us. I'm enjoying the battle.

Zine

Kim and I went to ABC No Rio last weekend to see the zine show they have up now. Needless to say we were inspired. I've been wanting to make a zine, but I didn't want to waste so much paper or make the effort to create a 10 page+ zine. We saw a zine there that was one piece of paper, folded up. On the back was a poster. This basically became my template. Kim and I got a table at the DIY lecture last night and lots of people took our zines. It felt really good to physically see people engaging in my art. To actually see the people your art is reaching is a pretty cool experience, regardless of whether they actually read the zine or not. More of my zines are currently in the school library. The edition size right now is 101 zines, on 11"x17" paper that I printed using VASA's (student gov't or something) copier. My costs were only my time.

This is the front, back, and insides:

This is the poster after it's all unfolded:
