Year end countdown

I've seen a couple of year end music lists and it seems like it's been a bit of a slow year. However, there were a few good gems. Being it almost impossible for me to have heard all of the albums from 2008, here's my humble list of 9:

9. Cut Copy-In Ghost Colours
8. Girl Talk-Feed the Animals
7. Deerhunter-Microcastle
6. Crystal Castles-Crystal Castles
5. M83-Saturdays=Youth
4. No Age-Nouns
3. Kings of Leon-Only by the Night
2. Vivian Girls-Vivian Girls
1. Portishead-3

Honestly, I thought the new Portishead album was gonna suck and be another comeback album that tried to rehash their old stuff. But they proved me wrong and made an album that was diverse and had lots of replayability. The top 4 could be interchangeable but Portishead surprised me the most, therefore, they get number 1.

Speaking of music, this is the cover of my latest mixtape for someone:

Winter work...thus far

I've made a couple more for my superhero series. Fairly simple concept, just combining tabloid stuff with superheroes. I'm getting better with photoshop, but I'm still no superstar. SooJin Buzelli decided to publish the Bells and Whistles piece I did for Plansponsor. I'm on my way. Huzzah. Also, new website scheduled to debut sometime after the new year. I'm gonna try my hand at frames and see what happens.

I've also been catching up on Dash Shaw's web comic, BodyWorld. At the beginning of chapter 10, the sheriff talks about evidence like one would talk about art. I'm absolutely loving it.

Captain America Exposed.

I'm not sure where I'm going with my portfolio, if a cohesive, singular themes based one is better than one with a bunch of different stuff, with the only link to the pieces being on stylistic terms. Hmm. Either way it's gotta look rad. Keep in motion to the ocean.

I did this a couple days ago:

"Can I help you officer?" Captain America Gets DUI

Below is a happy accident that blogger made when uploading the first time.

Semester is Ending..

Here are 2 illustrations I did for my class with Soojin Buzelli who art directs for Plan Advisor and Plan Sponsor. She has brought to light many illustration mysteries I've been wondering about. Yes.
