I decided to go with a beach background cause that's always the best setting for an epic horse ride. For being seemingly straight forward, the piece turned out pretty surreal in a Magritte juxtaposition kind of way.

Portland Mercury
I did this piece a few weeks ago for Justin at the Portland Mercury. Pretty quick turnaround; got the assignment Friday night, due on Monday. Justin asked me to draw the Portland chief of police riding a slightly wild horse. No sketches, just straight to finish. I did sketches for myself but sadly since they never made it on the computer, they have been misplaced.
